In-depth Partnerships

The most important work isn't done in a single session. It unfolds over time.

Building a business with your partner is one of the most ambitious and complex things two people can do together. You are navigating a relationship, a family and a commercial enterprise simultaneously. All three influence each other every single day.

When those dynamics are working well, couples in business become extraordinary. You are aligned, resilient, building something significant together while remaining genuinely connected as partners. When they are not, the pressure in one area spills quickly into the others, a disagreement about strategy follows you home, a tension at home affects how decisions get made in the business. The lines are never clean and the stakes are always personal.

Most professional advisors work with only one part of this picture. Lawyers focus on legal structure, accountants focus on finance and business consultants focus on strategy. And so they should! It's important people do their best, most ethical work with what they're trained to do. It's trie that none of them are trained or equipped to hold the relationship, the family and the business at the same time.

That is what an ongoing partnership with me provides.

More than a confidential space. My work offers consistent presence across everything that matters.

I work alongside couples - and where relevant, their wider family - over time. As a trusted, consistent presence who understands every dimension of what you are building and what is at stake between you.

This is not a coaching programme with a fixed agenda and it's not a series of therapy sessions. It is something more specific and more valuable - a bespoke, long term partnership built entirely around you, your relationship and your business.

What we work on together - Every partnership is shaped entirely by what you need. Over time our work together typically draws on some combination of the following:

Insight across your whole picture

Drawing on my training in psychotherapy, coaching and mediation to help you navigate relational and commercial challenges simultaneously — in a way no single discipline alone can offer. You don't have to choose between working on the business and working on the relationship. With me you do both at once.

Dedicated space for the conversations that matter

Regular, structured time away from the day to day. This is meant for honestly on how you are functioning as partners and as business leaders, and to address what needs addressing and make thoughtful decisions together without the pressure of everything else in the room.

Facilitated conversations

When important conversations need to involve others, such as a family member, a co-director, wider stakeholders, I create the structure and safety for every voice to be heard constructively and every perspective to be genuinely understood.

Getting ahead of tension

Identifying and addressing friction early - before it escalates into something more serious. The most effective work happens long before something becomes a crisis. That is precisely where ongoing partnership operates at its best.

Succession and transition planning

Guiding the conversations about leadership change, evolving roles and future ownership that most couples know they need to have but find hardest to start. Especially when business is deeply personal and totally shared.

Governance and structure

Developing the frameworks that give your partnership its foundations, such as decision making structures, clarity about roles and responsibilities, family constitutions where relevant, so that the business operates with confidence and the relationship isn't carrying the weight of every unresolved question.

How we begin

Where couples and families are working together as a group I typically recommend beginning with a FEAT® Assessment and DISC profiling. Together these tools create a clear, evidence-based picture of how you each operate individually, how you function together as a couple and how the business currently works as a system.

From that foundation we design a plan that is entirely specific to you, your relationship, your business, your goals and your timeline.

Between formal sessions, occasional guidance is available when something needs attention and cannot wait. This is offered within clear boundaries that protect the integrity and effectiveness of the work.
