Family Business Coaching is ideal if you are looking to work better together as a couple or family in business
All my sessions are online and start from £120. We can have a blend of group sessions and one-to-one time too. We can work together hour by hour, which means you don't need to commit to any number of sessions. I work long term and short term depending on what you require.
I offer a mix of practical tools and an honest conversation. This is not pure business consulting and it is not pure family therapy. Instead, it is a space to talk about and find ways for you to work as best as you can together that respects both your family and your business.
I have personal and professional experience working with family or couple businesses specifically. My job is to be neutral and support all people without taking any side.
Family Business Coaching can help with...
-
Communication
Family businesses often rely on assumptions and shorthand, because you feel you know each other well, but important things go unsaid. Good communication means regular, structured conversations, clear agreements, and honest feedback delivered respectfully. When families separate business talk from personal talk, and listen properly, decisions are made faster, misunderstandings shrink, and everyone knows where they stand.
-
Conflict
Conflict is inevitable when family and business overlap, and avoiding it usually makes things worse. Productive conflict means disagreeing about issues, not personalities, and raising concerns early. With agreed ground rules, I support you to resolve tensions, protect important relationships, and make better, more informed decisions together as a family and as a business.
-
Transitions
All families and businesses face change: growth, new roles, generational handovers, retirements, or someone leaving. Transitions unsettle identity and relationships as much as operations. Planning early, clarifying who does what, and acknowledging emotions helps everyone adjust. Done well, change becomes an opportunity to renew the business rather than a source of division.
-
Money and equity
Money is emotionally charged in family businesses, where fairness matters as much as numbers. My aim is to support you to have the conversation about pay, profit-sharing, and ownership, and separate family needs from business needs. We will aim for agreements how equity is shared, valued, and passed on.
-
Blending family and business
When home and work overlap, business worries follow you to the dinner table. Blending family and business well means setting boundaries, protecting personal time, and separating family roles from business roles. Clear expectations about money, titles, and responsibilities stop favouritism or resentment, so relationships stay strong while the company thrives.
-
Managing expectations
Unspoken expectations quietly cause many family business problems: about workload, pay, involvement, progression, and commitment. Managing expectations means making them explicit, writing them down, and revisiting them regularly as circumstances change. When everyone understands what is expected, and what to expect in return, trust grows steadily and disappointments quickly shrink.
If you're curious about whether this might be right for you, the best place to start is a confidential enquiry. We'll then have a considered conversation to explore whether we are a good fit.
